Heather, many years ago you featured a music video where the singer is riding a bicycle in a roundabout in Europe. I am going ape-shit trying to figure out the artist. Please help!

My aunt gave me and my six month old a safe place to stay during Hurricane Ike (hubby was away on business) She made sure we were well fed, took the baby so I could recover from a nasty cold and asked a neighbor to park my car in their spare garage so it wouldn't flood. Let us stay there for a week because she had electricity and we didn't.

My 20 month old LOVES Charlie Brown. There is a Peanuts collection 2-disc DVD set that features many of the holiday classics and one in particular called "He's Your Dog, Charlie Brown!" that is to die for. The whole family enjoys sitting down to watch, but he is fine to watch it by himself. No annoying music or voices, no peril or death, just good, clean fun.

My sweet husband quit before our first child was born. He initially quit cold turkey and after mood swings and temper-tantrums (on his part) he found out that his employer offered a very supportive smoking cessation program. They offered nicotine patches at no cost to us, and he was assigned a cessation counselor that called him every month to check on his progress. It's been just about two years and he is doing very well.
The important thing was it being HIS decision, no one else could do or say anything to make him quit until he was ready. I saw him SUFFER for at least three months but he is all the better for it. He has a well-earned sense of pride and accomplishment for achieving something so difficult.

I haven't spoken to my father in about six years. He is an alcoholic and has been in and out of jail for my whole life. My sisters have re-established a relationship with him via texting, Facebook and the occasional phone call. He forwards me political emails, but that is all. I now have a respectable little family and I have great male role models, so why invite such a destructive force back into my life?
So it's not just that I don't get along with him, at this point I don't care to have anything to do with him.

If you don't need them, don't take them. I always feel so much better off the pill. Only downside for me is unpredictable periods and slightly elevated PMS.

Well, you know the warning signs now. Develop a good relationship with a doctor you can really trust, and be ready to treat at the earliest signs of a problem.
I had moderate depression after my son was born and didn't get treatment for the first six weeks. Luckily, my OBGYN noticed I had a problem and prescribed appropriate medication. When my next child is born in Feb, my hubs and I will be ready.

If visitors ask to hold the baby, you can direct them to the washroom, but you can't really make a visitor wash their hands the second they walk in the door unless you want them to think you have lost it. You can prominently display hand sanitizer in very obvious places, or Lysol any surface they touch after they leave. If you are worried then don't invite anyone over for a while.
