annnnd, I feel dumber now...just read above my post.
I'm feeling really dumb...the password won't work for me and I'm dying to see them!
Oh, and "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus. I can't believe I just admitted that!!! Ahhh! But it's a catchy tune, what can I say?!?!?!
("And the Britney song was on, and the Britney song was onnn...")
I'm so ashamed, but here goes:
During the month of December, I will rock out to "All I want for Xmas is you" by Mariah Carey. More than once. (But in private.)
Thanks everyone for your responses! Let me clarify a few things. The dogs aren't going to actually be at the wedding, but they (would have) likely come to the rehearsal dinner/bbq at my sisters house the night before, which would cause my sister total anxiety. And the dogs will be at the hotel/cabin during the day of my sister's wedding, but my dad would have to drive a 1/2 back to the cabin to let him out. (between pics, apps, meal, and dancing, etc., it will be an 8 hour day I think). I felt like the biggest issue was the message they're sending to my sister about her day...like, "Oh, it's no big deal, it's just a weekend trip...let's all bring our dogs"...like, we're all heading to a cabin for a casual weekend with no showering and drinking bud light. When actually, this is the biggest weekend of my sister's life. My entire family had no problem leaving the dogs for a week in Hawaii (where I got married just recently), so I feel like it's sending shitty messages to my sister...like her day is less important or something. Does that make sense? I did talk to my mom and she thinks I'm making too big of a deal out of it (she's one of the individuals bringing a dog, obviously, as evidenced by my dad having to leave to let the dog out). Thanks for your help on this one! I love the dooce community!
TATO! Thank you! I was looking for that type of reinforcement. My sis even sent an overly polite email with the subject line "doggone requests" and no one got the hint! I'm with you...who brings their dog on a weekend WEDDING trip? Inappropriate. I welcome opposing arguments, but right now I'm totally with you. Thanks for responding.
I actually find total enjoyment from plucking my chin hair. I have one, therefore I shall refer to it as a hair. And it's course and ridiculous but now I actually kind of look forward to it's appearance. Like, "there it is! I've been waiting for you little buddy! I've been wondering if this time, I can actually pluck you using my pointer finger and thumb! I bet I can!!!"
And then when I can? Well, I'm beyond happy.
Situation: my sister's wedding
SCENARIO: My sister is having a small (yet very formal and certainly equally important) wedding at a lake in MT (where my entire family is from), and MOST of my immediate family has taken on the mindset of "Oh! It's a MT wedding, let's bring all our dogs along!"
COMPLICATION: My entire family traveled all the way to Hawaii to attend MY wedding, SANS dogs, kids, or any other complications.
REALITY: My sister has a crazy dog who doesn't get along with other dogs (rehearsal dinner issues, as the rehearsal dinner is a bbq at my sister's house) and dog tag-a-longs will force said immediate family to (likely) leave wedding day/evening/reception early to go let said dogs out for potty on sister's biggest day ever.
PROBLEM: My husband is telling me to get shut the hell up and not say anything despite my sister's (legitimate!) concern about dogs (dogs!) disrupting what should be a day entirely dedicated to HER! (i.e. my dad will have to leave for an hour during my sister's wedding day to "let the dogs out"...wtf???)
Gut feeling: after talking w/ my sis, it (seems)as though ideally, her wedding day would be much more seamless w/out dogs (i.e. much more stress free were dogs not a factor).
Help me justify or stifle my concerns, which will help dictate my advocacy (or lack thereof) for my sister, who is too nice to say anything. Thanks for the ear!
Mine's lame: Mike Mike Kilo.
But, my husband's is Papa Kilo, which is pretty hilarious.
Dudes, this one is the best! Hilarious!

Probably one of the most powerful ads I can think of at the moment:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d4gmdl3zNQ&feature...
It's a child abuse prevention ad and it made me bawl the first time I saw it and it has again now that I've finally been able to track it down on youtube. It's really well done and the bit that gets me is the mum yelling at the crying baby as I've done that!
There are way too many ads I hate and they are all Australian so I won't inflict them on you!
I always thought the "Summer of '69" song by Bryan Adams was some sexual song that opened up with,
"I got my first real sex-ring
Bought it at the five-and-dime
Played 'til my fingers bled"
I was so intrigued as to what a sex ring was, and oh my gosh, he played it until his fingers bled?! Where could I get one of these?!
I fucking hate Sex and the City. I think it makes women look vapid and materialistic. It takes us all down a notch.
Don't talk to me about Harry Potter, anything vampire or Disney related.
You let your kids watch too much tv. Be a parent.
I wouldn't go without speaking to them at all. I would just make sure they knew how shitty that is.
Example: you're at the hospital, sister in law has just given birth, you say "wow. that kid is going to NEED a cool name."
Either that or just mispronounce it for the kid's entire life.
See, this way, you get to retaliate and still be the bigger person. It's a win-win for you.
I'm quite judgmental about art hung too high on the wall - it irritates me.
Rachel Maddow - I have an enormous geek/celebrity crush on that woman. I'm just confused as to what that makes me. Straight or a Lesbian?
Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries.
